I started a theatre company and research studio called Intimidaiton Tactics. At the studio, we usually find ourselves perpetually lost in an existential derilium. “How the F&$% did we end up here?” Thinking through making about the state of our experience of the world. And we often end up overwhelmed with the question “What does it mean to be human?” We take these questions very seriously.
Intimidation Tactics has a studio space in Jordaan, Amsterdam and where we think together and make all the work. We are looking at ways to start a gardening project in our backyard.
Yes, a lot of recent work has been about ecological change, human-nature relationship and about decolonisaiton. But to define the work as such fells like limiting it. It is much more and our relationship with what we make is not fixed. A lot of this practice has emerged as a response to a racially biased context. This has changed the work. What has not changed is a relational logic of building worlds together with love. That is the core Intimidation Tactic.
Apart from making theatre, I have been a teacher for most of my life. And in the future, I would like to write a lot more poetry.
This bio is a funny thing. I never get it right. I change by the time I finish writing it.
p.s. in the background is playing a video work variously titled - Lover’s Discourse / really really really long term thinking / (RRR.dev). Made with C_mama and Julia. <3
